From January 2016, Team SOTHAWACA would be in Owan East and West LGA to launch our MELT 2016 Project. Our primary focus would be on Parents and Children especially the Girl-Child.

Parents can get all the necessary support they do need and so desire. Bearing this in our mind, SOTHAWACA's major aim and concern here is to see how help can be rendered especially when taking Child Abuse and Neglect into cognizance. Many risk factors such as isolation can be decreased. We as a TEAM must take into consideration the fact that parents do need to be helped with bonding with their children. With this as our main drive, we would notice that what we are doing is to evidently encourage healthy child development.

With the support of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA),Edo State Chapter, the hosting Local Government Councils and in collaboration with Ministry of Women Affairs & Social Development, Benin -City, in addition to Prevention and Intervention SOTHAWACA would provide training to a greater number of homes / families.We intend to encourage parents to decrease get empowered so as to have a decreased dependency on selling their consciences especially when their children have been abused; have more positive interactions and approach with their children; give their children better health care and more importantly, ensure a decreased risk for child abuse and neglect.In order to live in a prosperous society, we need to have extremely strong family ties and healthy communities. And as parents / caregivers, neighbors and and friends - we all can help. Always be prepared to show your support and commitments to preventing child abuse and neglect.

Now is the time to give. More and more families need support and care to help with daily tasks of children, to help families gain access to all the resources they need and to work with families to set and achieve their desired goals.
