MELT 2016 Pilot Project ~ Back to School Campaign for Pre-Teen and Teenage Mothers in Owan East and Owan West LGA, Edo State.
Beginning from Mid-January - Mid-June 2016, the SOTHAWACA Team will be at Afuze, Okpokhumi-Emai, Ivbiaro and Otuo (Owan East LGA) & Sabongidda-Ora, Ozalla, Uzebba-Illueha and Sobe (Owan West LGA) to begin our Back to School Campaign for Pre-Teen & Teenage Mothers.

A basic education project such as this, aims to get PRE-TEEN & TEENAGE Mothers to return to schooling following a spike in pregnancies among our very young and vulnerable girls. This is a Back to School Initiative that seeks to offer HOPE to our Teenage Mothers who feel that their state is a HOPELESS situation.

We believe that these young Mothers deserve to be brought back to school during the next Academic Session . Our PILOT Project is looking at a total of 50 Mothers from the selected communities in the 2 LGAs.

Our Pre-teen and Teenage Mothers MUST be given an opportunity to RETURN to school. Education is the BEST TOOL for any child.

We would be undertaking this Program in collaboration with Ms Kathy Urdy-Rhambo a Life Coach and Olutosin Oladosu Adebowale who has volunteered to be with us all through this time.
